for information and inspiration at festival time
A stand where open-minded festival goers can find out more about why it is so good to eat veggie.
The One Voice for Veggies stand brings together people of all veggie persuasions from around the UK and beyond. We are there with the positive coherent message that the more veggie you go the better it is for you, people, the planet and the animals. We want to make it easier for everyone.
At Womad 2004 and 2005 we had a blast at this relaxed music and arts festival in Reading. Hundreds of people came to talk to us, thousands took our leaflets. Everyone had great fun with all the costumes and activities.
Womad 2006 - join in!
Sophie & Stephen will be taking a break from Womad in 2006 due to other commitments.
The Vegetarian Society, who have been right behind the stand at Womad when we've run it, are co-ordinating it for 2006, and probably running it under their own banner, though they'll use the One Voice for Veggies theme if other organisations seriously join in. So get in touch with Show email address. if you would like to volunteer to help. Just a couple of hours over the weekend would be excellent. You'll need your own ticket as always, but the stand is a great place to hang out when you need a bit of a relax or chat.
want to run a stand under the One Voice for Veggies banner?
If you like stands where several veggie/animal organisations are represented, a One Voice for Veggies stand is for you. We can lend all sorts of useful materials or just the banner. Get in touch.
You could use all our materials and documents we've developed, and we'd publicise it for you and link you to key contacts. It could be wherever suits you. Suggest away.

Make Vegetarian Food Legal
Currently anyone can call food vegetarian if they vaguely think it is. Trading standards might be able to stop them if they willfully and persistently sell food as vegetarian that blatantly isn't and you report it.
But there is no legal definition of vegetarian and vegan – so it's all rather wooly and vague.
You can do your bit at the One Voice for Veggies stand at Womad 2005 to change this.
